As fotos abaixo são de um fim-de-semana que passámos no fim de Fevereiro no lago Mývatn, no Norte da Islândia, com o Prof. de Ornitologia e um rapaz que anda a fazer projectos com aves aqui no lab... Eles iam fazer um censo da população de uma espécie de pato americano cujo limite Este de distribuição (e único local de reprodução na Europa) é a Islândia, e a Ester arranjou-nos lugar na "expedição", para vermos a região, que é bem bonita! Entretanto, e para alegria da desgraçada da Rain, encontrei um sítio onde posso eu pôr as fotos, portanto os próximos posts aqui vão ser mesmo só texto, e as fotos passam a estar em www.shutterfly.com . Já lá estão umas da nossa ida às Westman Islands em finais de Janeiro, no caso de quererem espreitar!
The photos below are from a weekend we spent at Lake Mývatn, North Iceland, at the end of February, with the Ornithology Professor and a boy who is studying birds here at the lab... They were carrying out a population census for an American duck species whose Esternmost distribution limit (and only reproduction area in Europe) is Iceland, and Ester got us a place on that "expedition", so that we could see the region, which is beautiful! In the meantime, and much to poor Rain's delight, I've found a place where I can put photos myself, so the next posts here will be only text, and the relevant photos can be found at www.shutterfly.com from now on. There are already some there from our trip to the Westman Islands at the end of January, if you want to take a peep!
